II. Product Details: Dry Tea Appearance: Robust, tightly rolled leaves with a glossy dark brown color, some with sandy green spots. The aroma is mellow, a blend of orchid and roasted notes, free of any off-flavors or stale taste.
Tea Flavor: After brewing, the tea liquor is bright orange-yellow, with a mellow and full-bodied taste, prominent rocky notes, and distinct layers of orchid and roasted aromas. It has a long-lasting, sweet aftertaste, with a pronounced caramel sweetness in the finish, leaving a lingering finish.
Processing Characteristics: Utilizing traditional charcoal roasting, moderate roasting makes the tea's aroma more mellow and refined, the taste smoother and richer, and also improves the tea's brewing endurance and storage properties.
III. 🍵 Brewing Guide
* **Regular Cup Brewing:** 95-100℃ boiling water, 3-5 minutes, 7-8 infusions.
* **Gongfu Tea Brewing:** 5-7 grams of tea, 95-100℃ boiling water, 10-30 seconds per infusion, gradually increasing the infusion time to 10 or more infusions.
Note: For the first infusion, a quick 10-20 second rinse is recommended to awaken the aroma, remove any impurities, and ensure a more even flavor in subsequent infusions. For Gongfu tea, the steeping time can be adjusted according to personal preference; a longer steeping time is recommended for a stronger flavor.
IV. ⚠️ Precautions
Storage: Unopened small containers of tea should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place free from odors, avoiding direct sunlight and humid environments. Once opened, individually packaged tea should be consumed within 1-3 months to prevent flavor loss.
Brewing Details: Da Hong Pao is best brewed with boiling water, as high temperatures better bring out the tea's "rocky" and roasted aromas. A Yixing teapot or a white porcelain gaiwan can be used for brewing. Yixing teapots offer better breathability and enhance the tea's flavor, while a white porcelain gaiwan allows for better observation of the tea's color. The amount of tea leaves can be adjusted according to the size of the teaware. When brewing in a gaiwan, use approximately 1/3 of the gaiwan's capacity. When brewing in a cup, reduce the amount of tea leaves to avoid making the tea too strong and bitter.
Drinking Suggestions: It is recommended to drink Da Hong Pao plain, without adding sugar, milk, or other additives, to better appreciate its unique rocky floral aroma and mellow taste. Da Hong Pao is mild in nature; drinking a moderate amount after meals can help cut through the richness of food, but it is not advisable to drink strong tea before bed to avoid affecting sleep.
Teaware Care: After using teaware for brewing Da Hong Pao, please wash and dry it promptly, and store it in a dry place to prevent residual tea stains from breeding bacteria or producing odors. With long-term use, a tea patina will gradually form inside a Yixing teapot, further enhancing the flavor of subsequent brews.
